Freddie Lee Anderson, age 83, died of natural causes on June, 30th 2016, in Jackson, Michigan. She was born on December 17, 1932 in Caruthersville, Missouri to parents; Mary Mack, and a father who was deceased before she was born. She was preceded in death by her mother; Mary Mack, eleven siblings,which included two sets of twins, and two of her children that died in infancy. In 1954 Sis. Anderson moved to Poughkeepsie, New York where she stayed for eight years. She then moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she worked for a department store, and was enrolled in a work study program as a manager; the program also helped her complete her education for her diploma. She later moved to South Bend, Indiana and then to Jackson, Michigan. She married James Anderson from South Bend, Indiana. Sis. Freddie Lee Anderson, also affectionately called Big Mama and Granny, was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was an active person who was deeply involved in church for the majority of her life. She enjoyed cooking, planting vegetables in her backyard, and traveling. Her family and friends will always remember her as an adventurous, helpful person. She is survived by one brother; Mitchell (Australia) Turner, of Poughkeepsie, New York, two sons; Glen Smith Sr. (Rose) of Orlando, Florida, and Darrell Davis of Jackson, Michigan, and two daughters; Dorothy Burse of Outer Springs, Georgia, and Patricia Dye of Jackson, Michigan. She also leaves to cherish her memory her fifteen grand-children, fifty plus great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
