Elward Earl Oliver was one of nine siblings born to Edward and Viney (Wilson) Oliver on August 27, 1933 in Sylvania (Oliver), Georgia. Elward was called home to be with the Lord and savior on November 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Viney Oliver, and brother; Raleigh Oliver. Elwood served in the Army and received three bronze service stars along with two metals. Elward graduated from high school then moved to Miami, Florida where he found his soul mate for the last fifty-five years of his life. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was a faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Elward was better remembered for his famous fruit cakes that he shared with his family for the Christmas holiday season. He was a bowler with the Blazer league for several years and went into business with his brothers owning a record shop better known as; "Ebony Records" then he decided to branch out with his sons owning their own trucking company. All his brothers stuck together like glue like we all said, daddy was the oldest boy and uncle Bernard is the baby boy but never the less they all are inseparable He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife; Marie Oliver of fifty-five years, three daughters; Evelyn (Andrew) Harrell of Miami, Florida, Deana and Cheryl Oliver of Jackson, Michigan, three sons; Ricky (Monica) Oliver of Loganville, Georgia, Earl and Darrell Oliver of Jackson, Michigan, twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren, his siblings; Wilhomena (George) Byrd of Jacksonville, Florida, Janet (Robert) Nichols, and Wilmotine Oliver of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Wendell (Hattie) Oliver, Rodell (Alberta) Oliver, Ellajean Oliver, Lynard (Lubertha) Oliver, and Bernard Oliver all of Jackson, Michigan and a special brother and sister in-law; referred to as siblings; Carrie (Sam) McPherson of Plano, Texas and James Bradley of Jackson, Michigan and a host of nieces and nephews that were all special to him.
