Danny Neil Long was born on Friday, February 19, 1954 and passedaway on Monday, January 27, 2020 in Jackson Michigan. Danny shared anunbreakable special loving bond with his adoring parents, Ilene Amos and the lateLonnie Long, Sr., both showering him with love and understanding throughout hiswhole life. At the age of seven, Danny chose the Lord to watch over him and guidehis way by being baptized at Second Baptist Church. In his youth he had a passion for collecting Superhero Comic Books and marbles.Jackson Citizen Patriot often published articles showcasing many contests Danny hadwon at the YMCA. Danny had a proud moment in life when he saved a family froma house fire. Danny went through the Jackson Public School system and graduatedfrom Parkside High School. Danny began his adult life with dreams and aspirationsof a good life, he worked two jobs working on the assembly line at Corning Glassbut his strong sense of family lead him to join his father in the family business, LLLServices where he purchased cars. Before age 30 Danny’s life changed dramatically,his future, dreams, and ambitions took a back seat. Danny dealt with many personalbattles in life but his gentle kind nature never wandered, never wavered. Danny loved his family and friends showing nothing but love anytime he saw you nomatter how much time had passed. Danny could always be counted on to celebrateand welcome each new addition to the family with love and joy and would be thereto keep an eye on them and introduce them to the finer things he treasured in life likehis yummy special coffee. Danny helped keep his nephews and nieces safe by waitingat the bus stop everyday after school seeing that they made it safely home. Dannyfavored the simple quiet pleasures in life. He was most happy taking long walksthroughout his beloved hometown of Jackson but also enjoyed engaging a friend orfamily member in a good game of chess, shooting pool or ping pong. Danny’s infectious warm smile and sense of humor had a calming effect and could meltan iceberg; everybody loved him and will truly miss his unconditional love. Dannyfound comfort and joy in music, his favorite artist was “Looking for a new love”,Jody Watley. For the majority of Danny’s life he resided with his mother creating anextra special bond while continuing to cultivate strong ties with his brother, Lonnie,Jr., who loved him very much along with his surviving sisters, Vivian, Darleen andJackie who all loved him dearly and helped him stay “so fresh and so clean”. Danny is preceded in death by his father, Lonny Long, Sr., Sister Peggy Gibson andhis stepfather, Leroy Amos. Danny leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother,Ilene Amos, sisters; Vivian Johnson, Darleen Turner, Jacqueline Long, Larisa Jones,Glenese Wilder and Yolundra, brothers; Lonnie Long, Jr., Maurice Amos and MichaelAmos and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
